PicoSure laser technology is the newest most advanced laser treatment for Tattoo Removal. The PicoSure laser provides a major breakthrough in tattoo removal by helping to clear notoriously stubborn colors quicker and more effectively than other laser technologies. Most green and blue tattoos can be completely removed in as few as one to three PicoSure laser treatments, whereas the same tattoos would typically require many more treatments using other laser technologies.

PicoSure Advantage

  • Fewer treatments
  • Better removal of even the most stubborn ink colors (such as blues, greens and black)
  • Effective on tattoos that show resistance to other laser treatments

Why PicoSure laser technology is a more effective laser tattoo removal treatment.

Picosecond vs. Nanosecond Technology

Traditional nanosecond lasers predominately rely on photothermal action, delivering heat to the pigment and surrounding tissue. PicoSure laser takes advantage of advanced laser technology to shatter the target tattoo ink into tiny particles that are easily eliminated by the body.

PicoSure's ultra-short pulse duration goes beyond photothermal action, creating an intense photomechanical impact. This results in greater destruction of ink particles and, thus, better clearance of the tattoo with fewer treatments. The PicoSure laser does this without injury to the surrounding skin. Even dark, stubborn blue and green inks, as well as previously treated and resistant tattoos can be removed.

Traditional laser vs PicoSure Laser

Ultra-Short Pulse Duration Is the Difference (1064nm Nd:YAG)

  • Picosecond pulse width is 100x shorter than nanosecond technology (providing for a more targeted and powerful treatment).
  • Only ultra-short pulse durations trigger photomechanical effects (change in the actual tattoo particles).
  • With the picosecond short pulse width, half the energy is required to remove tattoos effectively (compared to Q-Switched nanosecond lasers that are commonly used for tattoo removal).
